There also are e-zines, concert updates, and for-sale CDs.

CD Universe
Another e-commerce site that sells music, movies, DVDs and games. Beyond that on this difficult-to-navigate site, there's not much more than audio clip previews, screen-saver downloads, and broken links.

eMusic
EMusic.com claims the Internet's largest catalog of downloadable, for-sale MP3 music. It offers an expanding collection of more than 75,000 tracks that be previewed and/or purchased. Individual tracks run 99 cents; entire, downloadable albums cost $8.99.

Launch.com
Launch.com is one of the Web's most comprehensive music sites. Registered users have access to music downloads; more than 4,800 music videos; Launchcast-personalized Internet Radio; e-e-mail concert alerts; celebrity chat sessions; and more.

Songs.com
More than a music catalog, songs.com is the ultimate guide to the best independent music on the Web. Among the highlights: online audio samples; interviews and features; live events; and digital downloads from an extensive MP3 library.

Listen.com
Through partnerships with sites like Launch.com, emusic.com and CDNOW.com, Listen.com lets you search for and sample music clips of your favorite artists; watch videos; and buy your favorite music online.

Spun.com
Buy and sell used CDs, but you'll have to go somewhere else to hear samples of the tunes.

Incanta
Incanta is a free downloadable multimedia player that lets you create your own favorites profile, as well as rank songs in the order you'd like to hear them. Incanta software tracks the responses and customizes the experience. Other additions to the software include streaming video and games.
