Connecting e-speed modem to your Ethernet Card

Try connect the Ethernet Card to the e-speed modem before loading the network driver.
Most new Ethernet Card uses Category 5 UTP cabling for 10BASE-T networks and Category 5 for 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet networks.

To connect the Ethernet Card to the e-speed modem, follow these steps:

Figure 2-6 Connecting the Network Cable to the RJ-45 Port

    1. Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 port on the Ethernet Card, as shown in Figure 2-6 Above.
    2. Connect the other end of the network cable to a 10BASE-T network port on the e-speed modem.
    3. Ensure the Ethernet card driver is successfully installed on the PC by now.
    4. Turn on the e-speed modem with connection to the e-speed telephone line.
Check self installation guide of the e-speed modem for detail of e-speed modem installation and setup.
    5. Your e-speed modem should have
     - Pure LED on
     - Line LED on
     - Ethernet LED on
    6. Check the Ethernet Card LEDs (if available).
    7.
If the LED light is on, you are done. Otherwise please check the above steps again to make sure you done everything correctly. If you still cannot get the Ethernet card to install, please consult any computer vendor for troubleshooting it.
